About the "Preaching Workshop - Getting Practical and Personal":
Join Dr. David Olford for this small group event which provides a context for personal interaction and practical instruction to encourage and strengthen the preaching/teaching ministries of those who attend. People can attend as “full participants,” which means they will preach a message “live” at the Workshop (35 minutes).
People can also attend as “auditors,” which means they will attend all the sessions, but will not actually preach at the Workshop.
Those who preach will submit a sermon outline or manuscript upon arrival at the Workshop, and these materials will be copied for all as part of the Workshop. It is not necessary for participants to have attended previous events with our Institute before this Workshop.
It is recommended, though, that participants are familiar with our approach to expository preaching. A great way to become familiar with our “emphases” is to read the book, “Anointed Expository Preaching.”
During the constructive critique times various aspects of preaching/teaching will be addressed. Also, there will be a few special instruction times that dive deeper into matters of special interest to the participants. A notebook will be provided and there will be plenty of time for questions and interaction. The goal is to leave the Workshop with specific recommendations and commitments that will impact the participant’s preparation and delivery of messages.
Breakfasts and lunches will be provided on the three days, people will be on their own for dinners. Comfortable and private accommodation is available “on location” for $50/person/night.
The registration fee is $155. A deposit of $50 can be submitted online at www.olford.org. This deposit ($50) is due by August 31. The deposit is refundable.
